Das war immerhin ganz nett. Kein Vergleich zu Stanley Parable natürlich, aber die Erwartung war auch hoch, weil das ja von einem der Stanley-Macher kam.
Der andere vom Entwickler-Duo hat das ernsthafte The Beginner‘s Guide gemacht.

Ist das nicht nur eine Mod gewesen? Das Standalone Spiel erschien 2021.

Das gleiche gilt für:

2015 als Mod erschinenen für Half-Life 2, 2016 dann erst als Standalone.

Geht klar, fällt dann wohl unter die gleiche Regelung wie Early Access. :beansweat:

Ist ne komische Mischung aus (fanmade) Extra-Content in einem Spiel und Early Access. Wird ja nicht jede Mod zu einem richtigen Spiel. Jede Spielermod als Spiel zu sehen, wäre auch seltsam. Wenn man eine Mod oder allgemein Spielinhalt nicht ohne das Originalspiel spielen kann, würde ich es grundsätzlich nicht als eigenen Eintrag sehen.

Grundsätzlich logisch, doch auch da gibt es Ausnahmen, wie das „neue Portal“.

…und wäre The Forgotten City nie als Standalone gekommen - wäre es dann auch kein richtiges Spiel?

Ausnahmen gibt es immer. Ich kenne nicht bei jeder Nominierung alle Hintergründe oder kann sie mir direkt erschließen. Wenn es für mich nicht eindeutig ist, frage ich nach.

Ich würde schon sagen, dass es auch als Mod ein „richtiges“ Spiel ist, wenn auch kein eigenständiges. Wäre es nicht als Standalone erschienen, wäre es für mich ein Spiel in einem Spiel. Teil der Zusatzinhalte, die ein anderes Spiel als Haupteintrag erweitern und mitverbessern.

Im Zweifel muss ich da in Einzelfällen eine Abstimmung machen. Es sollte am Ende aber irgendwo im Rahmen der für alle Nominierungen geltenden Regeln liegen.

In 2016 hatten wir ein paar Gespräche zu Zusatzinhalten und auch zu Pokemon Uranium, welches von Fans programmiert wurde. Das hatte für mich aber wenig mit einer Mod zu tun, auch wenn es fanmade war. Dadurch das es Copyrights von der Pokemon Company verletzt ist die Veröffentlichung eine schwierigere als anderer Spiele, nichtdestotrotz war es für mich ein eigenständiges Spiel.

Oh man. Jetzt hab ich wieder das Spiel angemacht nach drei Jahren. Das ist das vierte Mal, dass ich es spiele. Irgendwie immer im Abstand von ungefähr 2-3 Jahren.
Warum nimmt es mich jedesmal so mit?
