In the beginning, the Earth was without form, and void.
But the Sun shone upon the sleeping Earth and deep inside the brittle crust massive forces waited to be unleashed.
The seas parted and great continents were formed. The continents shifted, mountains arose. Earthquakes spawned massive tidal waves.
Volcanoes erupted and spewed forth fiery lava and charged the atmosphere with strange gases.
Into this swirling maelstrom of Fire and Air and Water the first stirrings of Life appeared: tiny organisms, cells, and amoeba, clinging to tiny sheltered habitats.
But the seeds of Life grew, and strengthened, and spread, and diversified, and prospered, and soon every continent and climate teemed with Life.
And with Life came instinct, and specialization, natural selection, Reptiles, Dinosaurs, and Mammals and finally there evolved a species known as Man and there appeared the first faint glimmers of Intelligence.
The fruits of intelligence were many: fire, tools, and weapons, the hunt, farming, and the sharing of food, the family, the village, and the tribe. Now it required but one more ingredient: a great Leader to unite the quarreling tribes to harness the power of the land to build a legacy that would stand the test of time:
a CIVILIZATION!
Damit fing alles an, ich war noch ein kleiner bub als mein cousin der über uns wohnte mich mit CIV angefixt hat, sodass ich ihm jeden tag nach der schule bis nachmittags beim erobern der welt zugesehen habe.
Klar gab es noch diverse spiele zwischendurch z.B. Wintergames und einen Atari hatte er auch aber ich würde mal behaupten in den Jahren bis zum Release meines zweiten prägenden spiels habe ich hauptsächlich bei CIV zugeschaut und nebenbei mit He-Man figuren gespielt.
Das zweite spiel das nach CIV einen so tiefen Eindruck bei mir hinterlassen hat war The Legend of Kyrandia das habe ich die ganzen 6 wochen sommerferien zusammen mit meinem Cousin und meiner Cousine durchgerätselt. So eine schöne fantasy welt…hach
Diese höhle hat uns drei sicherlich tage beschäftigt. Irgendwann sind wir sogar auf die gloreiche idee gekommen uns eine karte zu malen, aber ganz ehrlich es war trotzdem eine qual da durch zu kommen.
Wie froh ich war als ich nach meiner Kommunion endlich genug geld beisammen hatte und einen eigenen PC kaufen konnte. 66 MHZ pure kraft! Da haben sich mir dann perlen wie Populous, Ishar, Lands of Lore etc. erschlossen.
