Einfach mal das ganze Argument komplett dekonstruieren. Mit zwei Buchstaben. Und ja, ich würde es begrüßen, wenn Samuel Vimes die Polizei (und sich selbst) überwacht.

Und bevor wer das in einen falschen Hals bekommt: Die Lösung auf Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? ist einfach: ich. Bzw. Du! Wir selber.
Indem wir nicht korrupt werden. Uns selber hinterfragen. Eben nicht auf andere zeigen die uns überwachen sollen und uns dann fragen, wer die dann überwacht. So funktioniert Polizei nicht. Es liegt an uns, unser dunkles in Thud zu halten. Und sollte der Bogen überspannt sein, es freizulassen.

Today is Thanksgiving, and I’m really struggling with my family. Im trans, and they don’t accept me. I was neglected for most of my childhood and often had no one to talk to or anyone I felt cared about me. The Discworld books were the only stable world I had. Terry Pratchett made me laugh, made me feel like there was good in the world. It wasn’t so much the actual stories, but more the loving way the characters and their struggles and victories were handled. Nobody was perfect, heros could be flawed, redemption could be given to anyone so long as they worked for it, and those morals and virtues carried me through adulthood. I remember listening to every book on audible during times of my life where I couldn’t get out of bed because of depression. I’m much less depressed now, but during trying times like the holidays, when I’m forced to deal with people who mock me and disregard my personhood, I can return to the Discworld and know that good people do exist. The characters and the stories are fictional, but Terry was real and his messages are real, and the way he thought about people makes me feel good about myself. I don’t say the word love often, I don’t say it to people in my family who I do not love or respect, but I truly love Terry Pratchett because he helped me love myself during the darkest parts of my life.
Und ja, diese Gefühle kann ich einfach unterschreiben.

Ich fürchte, da wird man einfach keine Teilnehmenden zusammenbekommen. Schröck hatte ja mal hier im Forum Interesse bekundet, weil er zumindest die Wachen-Romane kennt, aber ansonsten wird es da vermutlich extrem eng mit Wissen bei RBTV. UNd das ist ja auch kein Thema, in das man sich mal eben „reinliest“.
Ich hätte auch Bock drauf, aber wenn die Expertise nicht vorhanden ist, kommt da ja nichts gescheites bei rum.
